Message Minute (The Peace Thief)

"Be still, and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:10

If you're like most people, the idea of being still for even ten minutes makes you anxious. We've become so addicted to stimulation and productivity that silence feels uncomfortable, even threatening.

But here's something that might shock you: Jesus was never in a hurry. The Son of God, who had the weight of the world on His shoulders, moved through His days with intentionality and peace. He understood something we've forgotten: you can't give what you don't have.

Jesus lived from a place of deep connection with the Father. He regularly recharged His spiritual batteries through solitude, silence, and prayer. He protected His inner life so He could give generously from His outer life.

We've inverted this completely. We live from our outer resources—our energy, our willpower, our adrenaline—and wonder why we burn out. Most of us are living beyond our limits with no margin whatsoever. We've maxed out our emotional capacity, mental bandwidth, and spiritual reserves.

Your pace isn't just affecting your productivity—it's stealing your peace. It's not just making you tired—it's making you spiritually malnourished. When you live without margin, you have no space for God to interrupt your plans, no room for the Holy Spirit to lead you into divine appointments, no capacity to be generous with your time.

The most heartbreaking part is that we start to believe this chaos is normal. But it's not! This is not the abundant life Jesus came to give you. This is not the peace that passes understanding. This is not the rest He promised for your soul.

Reflection Question: Where in your life do you need to create more "margin"? What would it look like to slow down enough to actually hear God's voice?

Prayer: Lord, I've let my pace steal my peace. I've become a slave to my schedule instead of a friend of Yours. Help me to create margin in my life. Teach me to be still and know that You are God. Let Your peace guard my heart and mind. Amen.
