Message Minute (Evil Will Be Completely Overthrown)

"Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord." - Romans 12:19

Some pain isn't just about loss, it's about evil. Someone hurt you deliberately. They abused their power. Got away with it. They're walking free while you're left carrying the consequences. You need to know: God sees. God remembers. God will settle accounts.

God doesn't skip over evil or sweep it under the rug. Every abuser will face justice. Every oppressor will be held accountable. Every wrong will be made right. But here's what makes God's justice remarkable: it's not just punitive, it's restorative. When God judges evil, He's also healing what was damaged and restoring what was broken.

The cross proves this. Satan thought he was winning when Jesus died; but God used the worst thing - the murder of His innocent Son, to accomplish the best thing - the salvation of the world. He takes evil meant to destroy and transforms it into displays of His glory.

This means you can release the burden of getting even. You don't have to be the one to make them pay. God's keeping the books, and His justice is infinitely better than your revenge. When you hand it over to Him, the bitterness that's been poisoning you starts to drain away. The obsession with settling scores begins to fade.

You can forgive—not because they deserve it, but because God's justice is better than your revenge! It means you trust God's justice enough to let it go, knowing He'll handle it righteously and completely.

Reflection: What injustice are you still carrying? What would it look like to release it into God's hands today, trusting His justice over your need for revenge?

Prayer: Father, some wrongs feel impossible to forgive. The injustice burns. But we don't have to carry this anymore. You see everything. You'll judge righteously. Help us release bitterness and trust Your justice. Free us from this weight. Amen.
