Message Minute (Responsibility and Reward)

"'Well done, my good servant!' his master replied. 'Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.'" - Luke 19:17

Jesus told parables about servants managing money, and the faithful ones received more responsibility. The reward wasn't retirement—it was meaningful work in God's Kingdom. Responsibility now leads to more responsibility later.

There's direct correlation between how we work today and how we'll rule forever. Even mundane jobs done faithfully matter to God. Paul told slaves to work wholeheartedly "as working for the Lord" because they'd receive an inheritance as reward.

Can you think of work worse than slavery? Yet God promises to reward all work done in His name. Whether washing dishes, filing papers, or changing diapers; if done for Jesus, it counts.

Be faithful with the "one mina" now, and in the world to come, the kind of work we love awaits. Every act of service counts. Every moment of faithfulness is recorded. Every effort for excellence when nobody's watching, God sees it.

One day Jesus will say, "Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful with little, so now you're in charge of much!"

Reflect: How does knowing God sees and will reward your faithfulness change your attitude toward work today?

Prayer: Jesus, help us work wholeheartedly for You, not for human approval. Thank You that nothing done in Your name is forgotten. Give us perseverance until we hear "well done." Amen.
