plan your visit

We know attending church can be a frightening experience. “What are they going to make me do… Will the people be normal… Am I going to stick out… Will my kids be OK” We hope the following information will help your first experience with the Suncoast be an enjoyable and even relaxing one.

Turn on your flashers… before entering the parking lot. We would love to give you a VIP parking spot! We will also have someone there to greet you and direct you if you need help.

Come a little early… enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack, and meet a friendly face at our Coastal Café. If you have children, the Kids Check In Kiosk opens 20 minutes before the service. We have bounce houses and games for your kids before they go to their environments.

Expect to have fun… the Suncoast is a fun place! The dress is casual, the music is loud, the creative elements will stir your senses, and the message will be practical and relevant for everyone. We believe church should never be dull or boring!

New experiences are always better if they are shared… We would love for you to bring a family member or friend with you as you discover the Suncoast.

Check out Guest Services… On your way in, stop by the Guest Service kiosk in the lobby. A friendly face will be there to answer any questions you may have about the church.

Fill out the Communication Card… and as a thank you for letting us get to know you a little, we will mail you a Starbucks gift card!

our purpose

It's always been simple at the Suncoast. We are here to help people take their NEXT STEPS with God no matter what those might be.

our story

Church of the Suncoast began as a dream in the heart and mind of lead pastor Brian Moon when he was just a little kid. In fact, when he was in elementary school he played church in his tree house with several of his friends from school. In college, he began to meet people that just would not set foot in a traditional church, and during this time decided that if he ever got the chance to lead a church he would create a place where anyone could connect.

Fast forward to the fall of 2005 when Brian and Cheryl began to share their dream with a small group of nine people who dove in and helped start the church in April of 2006.

Since then, the Suncoast has met in a daycare, an elementary school, and two middle schools before rennovating two warehouse units in 2012 to become the first true home for the church. A lot of things have changed since 2006, but one thing has not, God is still changing lives at the Suncoast!

our code

As followers of Jesus we believe:

Found People Find People.
Saved People Serve People.
Changed People Change.
Blessed People Bless People.
Those Who Get Grace Give Grace.

our beliefs

First, we believe in the authority of Scripture, which is another way of saying that the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word. It’s the ultimate source for knowledge about God, as well as the definitive guide for our daily lives.

Next we affirm the existence of a triune God or one God in three distinct persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This God is self-existent, eternal, unchanging, omnipotent, omnipresent, holy, righteous, and loving. God created the universe from nothing and He rules over His creation sovereignly including both human and angelic beings.

We also hold that man is a physical and spiritual being who is created in God’s image. But because of his sin or transgression, man has lost his fellowship with God. The extent of sin is so great that its effects continue to this very day in the form of cruelty, suffering, and death.

By God’s grace, Jesus Christ – Who is fully God and fully man – was sent to save us from our bondage to sin. We believe that Christ was born of a virgin, died for our sins, physically rose from the dead, and will one day return to judge the world and deliver His people. Faith in Christ is the only means by which mankind can escape eternal damnation and judgment.

Finally, we recognize the church as God’s ordained institution headed by Christ. The church is composed of all believers, and is organized for worship, for fellowship, for the administration of the sacraments (baptism and communion), for spiritual growth and support, and for evangelizing the world.
