Message Minute (Training for Reigning)

"There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever." - Revelation 22:5

Dallas Willard said this life is "training for reigning." Right now, we're learning skills needed forever in God's renewed creation. The Bible opens with humans called to rule over creation and ends with that vision fulfilled, us reigning alongside Christ.

Every time excellence is practiced, training happens for eternity. Every problem solved develops skills for the age to come. That difficult project? It's building character and capability for ruling with Christ. That class being taken? Preparation for the future.

Maybe cooking is teaching how to create joy through food, why wouldn't that continue on the New Earth? Perhaps IT work is developing problem-solving skills useful for managing complex systems in God's Kingdom. Woodworking builds patience, precision, and creativity—eternal skills.

Stop viewing work as just a paycheck to endure until retirement. Every day is training. Character is being built. Skills are being developed. The person being formed now is the most valuable asset, and that person continues into eternity.
