Message Minute (You Are God's Masterpiece)

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." — Ephesians 2:10

Have you ever looked at a piece of beautiful art and wondered about the artist who made it? Here's something worth sitting with today: God looks at you the same way an artist looks at their greatest work.

The word Paul uses in Ephesians 2:10 — handiwork — comes from the Greek word poiema, which is where we get our word "poem." That means you are not mass-produced. You are not an accident. You are God's poem, crafted with thought, care, and purpose.

And just like a poem has a specific message, your life carries one too. God didn't create you and then scramble to figure out what to do with you. He prepared specific works, works that fit YOUR unique personality, passions, gifts, and story, before you even drew your first breath.

So here's the invitation today: stop seeing yourself as ordinary. Stop assuming God made everyone else with purpose and just kind of winged it with you. That's simply not true. You were made on purpose, for a purpose.

Reflection: When you think about God's plan for your life, does it feel exciting or exhausting? What might that reveal about how you see yourself?

Prayer: God, thank You for not making me by accident. Help me begin to see myself the way You see me — as Your masterpiece, crafted with intention and love. Amen.
