Message Minute (Why Doesn't God Make It More Obvious?)

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." - Romans 1:20

"If God really wants people to believe in Him, why doesn't He just write it in the sky?" It's a fair question. If eternity is at stake, shouldn't God make Himself more obvious?

But here's the thing - has God really not made it obvious enough? Look around you. The complexity of creation, the beauty of a sunset, the intricate design of your own body - all of this points to a Creator. Yet many people look at the same evidence and explain it away.

It's like those documentaries about flat-earthers who perform experiments proving the earth is round, then immediately rationalize away their own results. We're not neutral fact-finders when it comes to God - we often actively suppress what we know to be true.

The issue isn't that we need more evidence; it's that we need new hearts. Even Jesus' own disciples saw Him raise the dead, yet some still doubted. The Pharisees witnessed incredible miracles and plotted to kill Jesus instead of believing.

God has given enough light for seeking hearts to find Him, but not so much that rebellious hearts are forced to believe. If He made it so obvious that everyone believed out of fear alone, would that really be the kind of relationship He wants? He desires hearts that are genuinely transformed, not just scared into submission.

Reflection Question: What evidence of God do you see around you that you might have been taking for granted?

Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to see You more clearly in creation and in Your Word. Help me have a seeking heart rather than a heart that resists truth. Thank You for revealing Yourself to those who truly seek You. Amen.
