Message Minute (From Wasting to Investing)

We have choices with our spiritual gifts: we can waste them, use them selfishly, or invest them for God's kingdom. Sadly, many gifts go unused because believers are unaware they have them, refuse to use them, or aren't walking in obedience to activate them. When we waste our gifts, we're like a hand that refuses to respond to the head's command. Christ, our head, has plans and purposes that require our participation. When parts of His body aren't functioning, His work is hindered. Similarly dangerous is using gifts for selfish ambition—seeking recognition, building our platform, or advancing our agenda. Like Simon in Acts 8 who wanted to purchase spiritual power, we can miss the purpose of our gifts when personal gain becomes our motivation. Instead, we're called to invest our gifts as faithful stewards. This means walking in the Spirit's power to build God's kingdom and His church. When we invest our gifts, we recognize they belong to the Master, not ourselves. Today, assess whether you're wasting your gifts or using them for selfish purposes. Make a commitment to invest them for God's glory instead.

Verse: "From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." - Ephesians 4:16

Reflection Question: In what ways might you be wasting your spiritual gifts or using them for your own gain rather than God's purposes?

Prayer: Holy Spirit, forgive me when I've neglected the gifts You've given me. Help me recognize these divine abilities and use them faithfully to build Your church. May I never seek my own glory but always point others to Jesus through how I serve. Amen.
