Message Minute (The King of All)

Jesus isn't interested in being confined to our Sunday mornings or relegated to a "spiritual" compartment of our lives. He is King of all creation, and His kingdom encompasses every aspect of our existence. When we try to compartmentalize our faith, treating Jesus as a spiritual butler rather than the sovereign King, we miss the profound truth that everything belongs to Him. Consider how often we act like Thomas Jefferson with his scissors, cutting out the parts of Scripture that don't align with our preferences. We might not physically cut up our Bibles, but we often live as if certain areas of our lives are outside of God's jurisdiction. Yet Jesus didn't leave His heavenly throne to become Lord of our "spiritual life" alone – He gave all of Himself, and He wants all of us. As Abraham Kuyper powerfully stated, "There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is sovereign over all, does not cry, 'Mine!'" This truth should revolutionize how we view every aspect of our lives, from our morning commute to our evening leisure time.

Verse: "For through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth... Everything was created through him and for him." - Colossians 1:16

Reflection Question: What areas of your life have you been keeping separate from your faith? What would it look like to surrender these areas to Christ's lordship?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me for the times I've tried to compartmentalize my faith. Help me to see every aspect of my life as belonging to You. Give me the courage to surrender everything to Your loving reign. Amen.
