Message Minute (Who Is the New Ground For?)

"Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be." — John 12:26

By the end of any significant transition, there's a temptation to unpack the boxes, settle in, and forget there was ever a bigger reason for the journey. The far bank starts to feel like the destination rather than the starting point of something new.

But every new season leaves someone standing back on the old riverbank who needs exactly what's now being carried. A coworker who has never met a genuine follower of Jesus. A neighbor going through something hard. Children watching how the hard things get handled. The point of crossing was never just to arrive.

Two missionaries once lost their husband and brother in a tragedy that looked like senseless waste. Rather than walking away, they returned to the very people responsible, and years later, that community came to know Christ. What looked like an ending became a beginning nobody could have predicted.

A life poured out doesn't come back empty. It multiplies. This new season, whatever shape it's taken, was never meant to be the finish line. It was meant to be a launching point for someone else's story too.

Reflection: Looking at my current situation, what feels like the clearest next step, and who might be waiting for a life shaped by that step?

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for bringing me this far. Don't let me settle here and forget the reason. Show me who is waiting for what You've grown in me, and give me the courage to keep crossing forward. Amen.
