Message Minute (Asking for a Wider View)

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." - James 1:5

A child's whole world can collapse over something that will be forgotten by next month. A good parent doesn't dismiss it, but they also carry a longer view the child simply doesn't have yet. That gap between panic and perspective is exactly where wisdom lives.

This isn't a promise that circumstances will change on request. The ask here is different: not "remove this," but "help this be seen the way You see it." Wisdom, in this context, means gaining a broader perspective on a present struggle, not an escape from it.

That distinction matters. Asking God to fix everything can leave someone stuck if the fix doesn't come. Asking God for eyes to see further than today opens a door that's always available, no matter what the circumstances end up doing.

Reflection: What would change for me today if I asked God for perspective instead of asking Him for rescue?

Prayer: God, give me a wider view than what I can see right now. Help me see today's fear the way You see it from where You stand. Amen.
