Message Minute (Before You Gather)

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17

Before you walk back into that hometown, sit at that table, face those relatives who might bring up your past, hear this truth: your past does not define you. Your failures do not disqualify you. Your shame does not have the final word.

Jesus has the final word. And His word over you is "BELOVED." His word is "FORGIVEN." His word is "MINE."

The road to healing from shame begins when you bring it into the light. When you come out of the shadows and speak it to someone safe, you'll hear your Savior's voice saying what He said to that trembling woman: "My precious child."

You are not too broken. You are not too damaged. You are not too far gone. There is nothing you've done that Christ's blood can't cover. There is nothing done to you that His healing can't touch. There is no shame so deep that His love can't reach you.

Stop letting shame tell you who you are. Stop letting your past dictate your future. Stop giving other people's words more power than God's Word.

Check your heart before you gather. If shame is there, don't hide it. Follow it down deep and bring it to Jesus. Let Him lift your head and speak His truth over your life.

You are wanted. You are loved. You are His.

Reflection: What specific shame do you need to surrender to Jesus before this holiday season?

Prayer: Jesus, take this shame. Lift my head. Remind me who I am in You. Help me walk into this season carrying Your truth instead of shame's lies. Amen.
