Message Minute (The Power of Yes)

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Luke 1:38

These simple words in Luke 1:38 changed history. Mary's yes became the pathway for salvation to enter the world.

This wasn't blind faith—it was ruthless trust. It's the kind of faith that says, "I don't understand Your plan, God, but I trust Your character." Mary focused on God's faithfulness rather than her circumstances. She took the next step without seeing the whole staircase.

God is calling us to take steps of faith that at times feel terrifying. Maybe it's forgiveness, a difficult conversation, a career change, or surrendering a relationship. The fear may never completely disappear, and God rarely gives the whole plan upfront.

But here's the beautiful truth: when we say yes to God, He says yes to us. When we make ourselves available to His purposes, He makes His power available to us. The same Spirit who overshadowed Mary is available today.

The question isn't whether we feel ready—Mary wasn't ready either. The question is: What is God asking you to say yes to?

Reflect: What specific thing has God been asking you to say yes to? What would it look like to take the next small step of obedience today?

Pray: Lord, like Mary, I want to say, "I am Your servant. May Your word be fulfilled in my life." Give me courage to say yes to whatever You're calling me to, trusting that You'll equip me for the journey. Amen.
