Message Minute (God Equips the Called)

“…for the Mighty One has done great things for me – holy is his name.” Luke 1: 49

Mary was just a teenager when an angel showed up with the most impossible assignment imaginable. She wasn't qualified, experienced, or prepared. Yet God chose her anyway.

Here's the pattern throughout Scripture: God calls someone, they protest their inadequacy, and God promises His presence. Moses said he couldn't speak well. Gideon said he was from the weakest family. Jeremiah said he was too young. God's response? "I will be with you."

The same is true today. God doesn't call the equipped—He equips the called. The resources, strength, and wisdom needed often come after saying yes, not before. Mary discovered that supernatural power was available the moment she stepped into obedience.

When God calls, He doesn't expect us to accomplish it in our own strength. He provides everything necessary for the journey. The equipping comes through obedience, not before it.

Reflect: What has God been calling you to that feels beyond your abilities? How might you be waiting to feel ready instead of trusting God to equip you?

Pray: Father, thank You that Your calling comes with Your equipping. Help me trust that You will provide everything needed to fulfill what You're asking. Give me courage to say yes before feeling fully ready. Amen.
