Message Minute (Living Like Royalty)

"Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power... so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist." - John 13:3-4

When you truly understand that you've been crowned with love and compassion, it changes everything—how you see yourself and how you treat others. Jesus demonstrated this perfectly when He washed His disciples' feet.

John tells us that because Jesus knew His identity and authority, He could serve in the most humble way. The word "so" connects Jesus' secure identity with His humble service. When you're secure in who you are, you don't need to protect your reputation or worry about appearances.

Being crowned doesn't make you arrogant—it makes you confident enough to serve. You stop needing to prove your worth through position and start expressing your worth through love. You can afford to be humble because you know who you are.

This also changes how you see others. You stop viewing them as competitors for approval and start seeing them as fellow royalty in God's kingdom. You stop being threatened by other people's success because you know your value doesn't depend on comparison.

When you're filled with God's love, it overflows into love for others. When you're secure in God's compassion, you have compassion to give away. You love because He first loved you.

Reflection Question: How might living with the confidence of being crowned by God change how you serve others and treat people around you?

Prayer: Jesus, thank you for showing me that true greatness comes through serving others. Help me live with the confidence that comes from knowing I'm crowned by you. Amen.
