Message Minute (Are You Sure About Your Eternity?)

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8

If you died tomorrow, on a scale of 1 to 10, how confident would you be that you're going to heaven? If your answer isn't a solid 10, this is for you.

The most common response to this question is "seven or eight." People say, "I'm a good person. I've done some good things. I go to church sometimes." But here's the reality - we don't get a practice run at death. Hebrews 9:27 says, "It is destined for people to die once, and after this comes judgment."

We all picture dying peacefully in our sleep at 87, surrounded by family. But you might not get that luxury. Life can change in an instant - a car accident, a medical diagnosis, a sudden heart attack. Then what?

Here's the incredible news: God doesn't wait for you to get your act together. While you were still messing up, while you were still far from perfect, Christ died for you. When you repent (change your mind about sin) and put your faith in Jesus, you're declared "not guilty" of everything. Not just some things - everything.

This isn't just "fire insurance." God wants you to actually know Him, to experience joy and peace now, to walk with Him daily and discover His amazing plans for your life.

So what's your answer? Are you trusting in Jesus alone for your salvation, or are you hoping your good deeds will be enough? Don't put this off - you have breath in your lungs right now for a reason.

Reflection Question: Can you honestly say you're trusting in Jesus alone for your salvation, or are you still trying to earn your way to heaven?

Prayer: Jesus, I repent of my sin and put my complete trust in You. I'm not trusting in my good works or my efforts - I'm trusting in You alone for my salvation. Thank You for dying for me while I was still a sinner. Save me and make me Yours. Amen.
