Message Minute (The Spinning Wheel of Life)

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28

Have you ever had your computer completely freeze up? You know that moment when nothing responds, and you're staring at that spinning wheel of death? The only solution is to force quit everything and restart.

I think that's exactly where many of us find ourselves spiritually. Our lives have become so overloaded with activity, obligations, and digital noise that our souls have essentially frozen up. We're spinning but not getting anywhere. We're busy but not productive. We're connected but not close to anyone—especially God.

Here's what I've learned: there's a massive difference between being busy and being fruitful. We wear our busyness like a badge of honor, somehow thinking that being overwhelmed makes us important or valuable. But what if we've got it all wrong?

Jesus lived the most purposeful life in history, yet He was never in a hurry. He had only three years of public ministry to redeem the entire world, and yet He regularly withdrew to pray, took time for rest, and was fully present to interruptions. If the Son of God could live without hurry, what does that say about our frantic pace?

Your soul wasn't designed for system overload. You were created for relationship, for connection, for communion with the God who loves you. But that requires something our culture has convinced us we can't afford: time, attention, and presence.

Maybe it's time for a reset. Maybe it's time to force quit the chaos and start over with what really matters.

Reflection Question: What areas of your life feel like they're "spinning" without real progress? What would it look like to invite Jesus into those spaces?

Prayer: Jesus, I'm tired of running on empty. My soul feels frozen, overwhelmed by all the demands on my time and attention. Help me to hear Your invitation to rest. Show me what needs to stop so I can start living the abundant life You promised. Amen.
