Message Minute (He's Enough, But He's Not Done)

"The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him." – Lamentations 3:24

There's a tension in the Christian life: God is enough right now, but that doesn't mean He's finished working. Both truths matter. When Jeremiah said "The Lord is my portion," he was declaring that God Himself was his inheritance—his best blessing. Not the circumstances he wanted. Not deliverance from prison. Just God.

But that didn't mean he stopped hoping for change.

The both/and matters. God is your portion right now. If nothing changes, if prayers go unanswered, if the hard season stretches longer than expected—He is still enough. Having God means having everything because you have the One who owns everything.

Yet you don't stop praying for breakthrough. You don't stop believing for healing. You wake up and say, "God, I hate feeling this way. I'm asking You to change it. I believe You can. But even if nothing changes today, You are still my portion."

This is the secret Jeremiah discovered in the mud: complete satisfaction in God while simultaneously believing for something better.

Reflection: Where do you need to embrace both truths—that God is enough AND that He's not done?

Prayer: God, teach us to be fully satisfied in You while still hoping for change. You are our portion, our best blessing. Help us rest in that truth while we wait for Your deliverance.
