Message Minute (Noble and Good)

"But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop." — Luke 8:15

When's the last time the words "noble and good" were used to describe your heart? Probably never, at least not by yourself.

But that's exactly how Jesus describes the heart of a believer in the Parable of the Sower. Not desperately wicked. Not barely holding it together. Noble. And good.

Now, this doesn't mean perfect. It doesn't mean the struggle is over. But there's a massive difference between a heart that is wicked by nature and a heart that is good but still learning. The first leads to constant self-suspicion. The second leads to growth.

When the Word of God falls on a good heart, something happens. It takes root. It grows. It produces fruit — not through gritted-teeth willpower, but through a heart that is genuinely responsive to God. Jesus said it. That's worth sitting with today.

Reflection: How does it feel to hear Jesus describe your heart as noble and good? What makes that hard to accept?

Prayer: Jesus, You called the believer's heart noble and good. That's hard to receive, but help me receive it. Let Your Word take deep root in the good soil You've created in me. Amen.
