Message Minute (God Never Stops Calling)

"The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, 'Samuel! Samuel!' Then Samuel said, 'Speak, for your servant is listening.'" - 1 Samuel 3:10

Young Samuel heard his name called three times before he realized it was God speaking. Even sleeping in the temple, he couldn't recognize the Lord's voice. Here's the encouragement: God didn't give up. He kept calling until Samuel learned to listen.

God is still that patient today. He doesn't get offended when we're too distracted or confused to hear Him the first time—or the tenth. He simply keeps speaking, keeps calling our names, waiting for us to stop and listen.

The average person takes 20,000 breaths daily without thinking about it. What if just three of those breaths became moments of intentional connection with God? That's the practice this week: learning to recognize His voice in the everyday rhythm of breathing.

Reflection: Take a few moments and practice now.

Find a quiet place. Set a timer if it helps you keep your eyes off the clock or your phone. Get comfortable and relax your body and your breathing.

Begin the prayer rhythm - Breathe in (4 to 6 seconds): “Lord, I am listening.” Hold briefly (1 to 2 seconds). Breathe out (6 to 8 seconds): Just breathe… Hold briefly (1 to 2 seconds). Repeat.

End with gratitude – what can you thank God for today?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your patience. You keep calling even when the noise of life drowns You out. This week, help us create space to finally hear Your voice. Teach us to recognize You in the quiet moments. Amen.
