Message Minute (Stay Curious in Suffering)

"It is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord. It is good for people to submit at an early age to the yoke of his discipline." – Lamentations 3:26-27

Not all suffering comes with an explanation card attached. Sometimes it just happens because we live in a broken world. But often, God is doing something beneath the surface we can't yet see. The question isn't always "Why is this happening?" but "What might God be up to?"

Sometimes He uses suffering to remove idols—things we didn't realize had become more important than Him. Sometimes He's getting our attention about something that needs to change. Sometimes He's humbling us, preparing us for ministry, or teaching someone else through how we respond.

Jeremiah wasn't suffering because of his own sin. He'd been faithful. Yet God was still using that dark season to shape him. The same might be true for you. Your faith in the fire might be exactly what someone else needs to see to believe God is real.

Stay curious. Ask the hard questions. Look for what God might be teaching. Not with guilt or self-condemnation, but with holy curiosity about what He's preparing you for next.

Reflection: What might God be shaping in you through your current circumstances?

Prayer: Lord, give us eyes to see beyond our pain. Help us stay curious about Your purposes. Teach us what we need to learn and prepare us for whatever comes next.
