Message Minute (The Wide Road vs. The Narrow Gate)

"You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it." - Matthew 7:13-14

Have you ever noticed how we tend to follow crowds? There's actually something called "the hipster effect" where people trying to be different end up looking exactly the same. It's funny when it comes to fashion, but spiritually speaking, following the crowd can be dangerous.

Jesus tells us there are two roads: a wide one and a narrow one. The wide road seems easier because everyone's on it. It's comfortable, popular, and doesn't require much from us. But Jesus warns that this road leads to destruction.

The narrow road? It's available to everyone, but fewer people choose it. Here's the thing though - getting on the narrow road isn't complicated. The Bible says simply confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, and you'll be saved. It's not about a checklist of perfect behaviors or jumping through hoops.

The narrow road is narrow not because God makes it hard to find, but because we often choose to follow the crowd instead of following Christ. We get caught up in what everyone else is doing rather than asking what God wants for our lives.

Reflection Question: Are there areas in your life where you're following the crowd instead of following God's direction?

Prayer: Jesus, help me to choose Your narrow path even when it's unpopular. Give me courage to follow You instead of following the crowd. Show me where I need to make different choices that honor You. Amen.
