Message Minute (A Reason Bigger Than the Upgrade)
"I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you... and you will be a blessing." — Genesis 12:2
Every new season comes loaded with hopes for something better: a fresh start, a healthier routine, relief from what has been hard. None of that is wrong. God delights in giving good gifts. But there's a question worth asking before getting too comfortable on the far side of any transition: what is this new ground actually for?
When God called Abraham into unfamiliar territory, the promise of blessing was never the finish line. It was the starting point for something larger. God didn't bless Abraham just to make his life easier; the blessing was meant to flow outward, reaching people Abraham hadn't even met yet.
That same pattern holds true today. A new job, a new home, a new chapter of life, these are rarely just about personal comfort. They are platforms. Somewhere on the other side of the change is a person who needs to see what a life anchored in God actually looks like. Asking "what is this for?" turns a self-focused transition into something with eternal weight.
Reflection: Think about a season currently underway or recently completed. Beyond personal comfort or relief, who might benefit from what's been learned or gained in it?
Prayer: God, thank You for the good gifts You give in every new season. Forgive me for making it only about my comfort. Show me what this season is truly for, and who You want to bless through it. Amen.
