Message Minute (Stay in the Room)

"They all joined together constantly in prayer... Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias." (Acts 1:14, 26, NIV)

By the end of this stretch, the small group who stayed in that upper room stepped out into Pentecost. Fire fell, the Spirit came, and three thousand people were added to the church in a single day. None of that happened despite the waiting. It happened because of it. The middle wasn't a delay before the real story. It was the preparation for it.

A whole culture teaches that quitting is self-care and staying is foolishness. But sometimes the bravest, most faith-filled move available isn't dramatic at all. It's simply staying. Waking up again tomorrow in an unfamiliar season, praying a stubborn prayer, and trusting that something is being built in the dark that isn't visible yet.

Remember: the middle isn't accidental, it's assigned. Silence isn't the same as absence. The waiting itself is where the deepest work gets done. And the promise on the other side is always worth more than the exit that looked so reasonable along the way.

Whatever nowhere-place feels unfinished right now, it may be closer to finished than it appears. The wind may already be on its way.

Reflection: What's one true thing about the middle that's worth holding onto the next time waiting feels unbearable?

Prayer: God, thank You for staying with me through every unfinished season. Help me plant my feet where You've placed me and trust that You are never late. Amen.
