Message Minute (Nobody Waits Alone)

"And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns."  Philippians 1:6

Picture a waiting room at two in the morning. Strangers everywhere, someone still in a work uniform, a woman clutching a child's jacket with no child in sight, a couple who keep standing up and sitting back down, not knowing what to do with all that nervous energy. None of them chose to be in the same room. On any normal day, their lives would never intersect. But right now, under the same fluorescent lights, they're all waiting on news nobody can control.

That's the picture worth carrying forward: waiting was never meant to happen alone. Every hard season eventually leads somewhere, and according to Scripture, it leads to someone. God isn't finished building. He started something real in every difficult chapter, and He's not the kind of God who leaves projects half-built.

The invitation now is simple, even if it isn't easy. This week, God will likely place someone nearby who's sitting in a "waiting room" already survived. Recognizing it might take a moment, and it probably won't arrive at a convenient time. But when it happens, a quick cliché and an exit aren't the answer. Pulling up a chair is. Looking someone in the eye and saying, "This has been walked through before, and there's life on the other side," changes the whole room.

Reflection: Who might God be placing in my life this week, someone sitting in a waiting room I've already walked through? What's stopping me from pulling up a chair?

Prayer: God, thank You that You never leave the good work You started unfinished. Open my eyes to see who needs me this week. Give me the courage to sit with someone in their pain and remind them there is life on the other side. Amen.
