Message Minute (Watched While Waiting)

"Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ." Colossians 4:3

While under house arrest, likely expecting the worst possible outcome, Paul spent his days writing letters. To the church in Philippi. To Ephesus. To Colossae. A short, personal one to a friend named Philemon. These are now known as the prison epistles, some of the richest, most life-giving pages found anywhere in Scripture, written by a man who assumed he was simply killing time in a waiting room with no purpose.

Paul had no idea those letters would still be read thousands of years later, long after the empire that imprisoned him crumbled into history. He couldn't see the impact stretching centuries ahead. All that could be seen from where he sat were chains and a few scraps of parchment.

The same is true today. There's no way to know who is watching a current season of waiting unfold, a child, a coworker, a friend walking through something similar down the road. Faithfulness in an unseen season may end up shaping someone else's story more than can be imagined right now.

Reflection: Think of someone who might be watching this current season of waiting unfold. Send a short encouraging message today or simply pray for that person by name right now.

Prayer: God, thank You for the reminder that nothing done faithfully in my own life goes unnoticed or wasted, even seasons that feel pointless right now. Use this waiting season in my story for something bigger than can currently be seen. Give me courage to stay faithful long enough to discover why. In Jesus' name, amen.
