Message Minute (Boasting in Weakness)

"Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me... For when I am weak, then I am strong." — 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Most instincts run the opposite direction: hide the weakness, showcase the strength, keep up appearances. Paul flips the script entirely. He chooses to boast about exactly what he'd normally conceal, because that's precisely where Christ's power shows up.

Here's a truth worth remembering: embracing inability is a prerequisite to experiencing Christ's ability. As long as pretending to be fine continues, God can't be the source of strength. But the moment those walls come down and honesty takes over — "This can't be carried alone" — that's the moment power begins to rest in.

Researchers call it post-traumatic growth: people who walk through the hardest seasons of life often come out the other side with deeper appreciation, stronger relationships, and greater resilience. Not because suffering is good, but because something forms in the walking that couldn't be produced any other way. The wait is never wasted.

Reflection: What weakness have I been hiding that God might want to use instead?

Prayer: Lord, I'm tired of pretending I have it all together. I bring You the parts I've been hiding. Let Your strength show up exactly where mine runs out. Amen.
