Message Minute (Counsel Without Correction)

Proverbs 14:12 - "There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death."

Here's something uncomfortable to admit: we often prefer AI because it won't challenge us. It won't judge, won't tell anyone our secrets, and won't give answers we don't want to hear. If it does, we can simply rephrase the question until we get the response we prefer.

It's the ultimate "yes man"—and we love it because we hate submission. We resist the idea that Someone knows better than us, has authority over us, and might ask us to do something difficult.

AI has no investment in holiness. It doesn't love enough to discipline. But Scripture says, "The Lord disciplines the one he loves." God cares too much about our transformation to simply affirm whatever path we're on.

Maybe the real reason for turning to AI instead of God is wanting counsel without correction, wisdom without transformation, validation without accountability. We want someone to say we're okay instead of someone who loves us enough to tell us when we're not.

True spiritual growth requires more than information—it requires transformation. And transformation is rarely comfortable. It requires surrendering control, admitting we don't have all the answers, and trusting Someone greater than ourselves.

Reflection Question: In what area of your life are you using technology to avoid the correction and accountability God wants to bring into your life?

Prayer: Father, give us the humility to receive Your correction. Help us seek transformation, not just validation. Make us willing to hear hard truths because we trust Your love. Amen.
